Bringing Cal to Students and Students to CalWe need your help! In the fall and spring we hold different outreach events where alumni are needed. Please read below to see where you might fit in!
SummerOnce students have decided that Cal is the place they will spend their college years, alums around the globe host a "Welcome to Cal" reception in the summer for students. These are best held at a private residence and we will provide the students' names in your area to invite. Please contact Erin Proudfoot at erin.proudfoot@alumni.berkeley.edu or 510-642-0227 if you would like to host a reception!
FallThese events are scheduled at local high schools from September through November. The format is much like a fair, as each school sets up a table or booth and vies for the attention of the hundreds of students who attend. Your participation involves distributing UC Berkeley literature, answering questions on a one-on-one basis from students and parents and promoting the greatness and value of Cal.
Interested volunteers have an opportunity to sign-up for their local high school college nights at the conclusion of the Fall Training Sessions in August and September. More.
Out of State Request for admissions materialIf you live outside of California and want to table at your local college fair, we want you to have the latest information regarding Cal admissions, financial aid, and housing. Please contact Angela Skrivanich at ang@berkeley.edu or 510-642-1364.
SpringNew Student ReceptionsEach April, newly admitted Cal students have the huge task of deciding where they are going to spend their college career. We want to encourage them that Cal is the right place! Alums throughout California and beyond can host a New Student Reception either at their home or a local high school to welcome the new students. You can host one too!
