Welcome to the Alumni Family - Letter Writing
April - Worldwide
Volunteers register online and are matched with graduating senior Alumni Scholars, from both the Leadership Award and Achievement Award Programs. Volunteers are then asked to write letters to these graduating seniors, welcoming them to the Cal Alumni community and congratulating them on their achievements. Information about local alumni groups will also be passed to graduating students.

Overnight Stay Program on Berkeley Campus
April - Berkeley, CA
Students who have been admitted to UC Berkeley are invited to come to campus and experience 24 hours of campus life, including staying overnight in the dorms, visiting classes, eating in the dining halls, taking campus tours as well as participating in interactive panels. We ask alumni to come speak on panels to discuss their time at Cal and since, what their education has allowed them to do and to give general words of wisdom to students who are in the middle of the college decision-making process.

Transfer Student Interviews
May - California
Volunteers convene with local scholarship districts and interview incoming transfer students to determine who will be awarded 2007-08 Achievement Awards.

Leadership Award Continuing Student Application Reading
7/7-8/08 - Berkeley, CA
Volunteers review and score scholarship applications submitted by continuing students who are already on the UC Berkeley campus.

"Welcome to Cal" Letter Writing
July & August - Worldwide
Volunteers register online and are matched with incoming first-year Alumni Scholars, from both the Leadership Award and Achievement Award Programs. Volunteers are then asked to write letters to these students, welcoming them to the Cal Family.
