Have you demonstrated leadership in the LGBT community or with LGBT-supportive issues? Do you have a strong record of academic excellence, volunteerism and achievement? YOU MUST: - Be an undergraduate student at Cal who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or intersexual OR actively supporting LGBT issues
- Have an excellent record of leadership on campus, in the community, or on the job
- Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident

Interviews are in late October and awards are paid through CARS in January. The recipients will be honored at a Leadership Recognition Luncheon at Alumni House in November. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scholarship Background UCGALA is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and gay-supportive alumni and friends of the University. The club was chartered by the California Alumni Association in 1986. One of the Club’s goals is to serve as a mentoring and issues resource to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and intersexual students. This scholarship is intended to hasten the scholastic development of students and encourage them to become productive, effective citizens, and leaders in their communities. Questions?
