MILDRED JORDAN SHARP ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
|
Are you a Cal junior woman in your fifth or sixth semester? Do you have a variety of interests? Have you volunteered in campus or community service activities ? Does your resume reflect that you are blazing a trail towards your future goals? YOU NEED: - Junior standing, with 60 to 89 units, and be in your 5th or 6th semester. (If you were a Transfer student, you must have at least one semester here at Cal.)
- Outstanding academics (3.0 minimum gpa)
- A goal-oriented resume which demonstrates your drive towards clear goals and/or your career
- Volunteer participation in campus or community service activities
- U.S citizenship or permanent resident status
Award amount: $500 - $1500 Number of awards: 5-6 per year
Application filing period: Due March 14, 2008 at noon

Interviews are April 2nd and 3rd. Awards are paid through CARS in July and applied to your Senior year. Scholarship Background
Mildred Jordan Sharp loved her years at Cal and participated in many campus activities. Her husband donated an endowment to Cal in her memory to encourage similarly active and accomplished young women to pursue their goals. This scholarship is administrated by the California Alumni Association for the Torch and Shield Society. Torch and Shield is an honorary organization that supports the development of young women.
