This fall, California magazine will become a quarterly. The magazine will also have a fresh look, more pages, and new departments. We are adding sports and expanding our coverage of arts and culture. An alumni columnist will report on events and seek out interesting anecdotes from Cal alumni. We will continue to profile graduates who embody the Cal spirit, and we will add more stories about faculty, students, and programs that reflect the campus's intellectual heritage.
As part of the redesign, class notes will move online. Alumni can still keep in touch with classmates and the campus by signing up for @CalCafé, the social networking site of @Cal, Berkeley's online alumni community.
On @CalCafé, each class will have its own exclusive area and members can post their own notes, unedited, whenever they choose. And they can decide who sees them—the entire class, only close friends, or the entire network. Members can choose to receive updates from other classmates and get information about Cal Athletics and campus and alumni events as they are posted.
