Club Lair Aug 30 - Sep 6, 2009
|
Your Club Lair vacation features something for everyone’s recreational appetite in our pristine Sierra playground. In a wildly diversified week of activity, you will find all that you are looking for in a simultaneously action-packed – and relaxing – experience. It’s summer camp for adults, with or without significant others – and you do not need to be a Cal graduate to attend!
Our Club Lair program is without limits! You can do it all! Or you can just rest amongst the pines. Among our daily offerings: a fantastic menu, yoga and wellness (with massage available at an additional cost), dance instruction, swimming, and tie-dye. Nancy Hall returns to lead her popular “Chorale” program, and Ted Ganio and David Smith return to lead our very special “Introduction to Mountain Adventure” program, which features lake kayaking with the ospreys, mountain biking, and beer making. Ted and David will also guide hikes to the crystalline high-country lakes and craggy mountain tops of the Emigrant and Carson-Iceberg Wilderness Areas - so don’t forget your boots, your trekking poles, your sunscreen, hat, and water bottle. Be sure to keep some energy in reserve for the evening social events, Lair Golf (real clubs and tennis balls), Lair-eoke, and our signature campfire shows!
Our New 2009 Club Lair Tennis Program! USPTA and Meadowood Resort Pros Bob Klyce and Doug King, and Head Tennis Professional at In Shape Marina Club, Scott Borowiak, lead an exceptional teaching staff that will guide you through our rejuvenated tennis program. Enjoy skills and strategy sessions, instruction in doubles team dynamics, point and changeover routines, and evening fireside chats. In addition, we'll have US Open coverage on the big screen and exhibition play! Read about our instructors
All skill levels are welcome. And in partnership with USTA NorCal, USTA members will receive a $100 discount for the week! You’re looking for tennis heaven? You’ve found it - at 5600 feet! Please note the tennis program will be limited to 100 players, so sign up early!
What makes our vacation in the mountains so extraordinary? We have tall trees, enormous stars, and impossibly fresh mountain air. But most of all, our staff is passionate about the camper experience. So from the first minute of your arrival to the final campfire, you will be treated to a very special vibe - one that is beyond description, beyond fun, and uniquely “Club Lair!” See sample tennis program schedule(.pdf).
The week begins on Sunday (arrive after 1 p.m.) and ends the following Sunday after breakfast. Register early to ensure your cabin.
Meals and AccommodationsCamping at the Lair never feels like roughing it. Tent cabins with canvas tops and wooden floors are rustic, but cozy. Modern bathrooms with plenty of hot water are just steps away. And don't let the picnic tables and plastic trays fool you. First class meals such as rack of lamb, fresh salads, abundant produce and fresh baked desserts are prepared by special chefs brought in just for the week. See sample menu for Club Lair (.pdf).
