Daniel Kolta '07I am interested in networking with individuals who have experience working with: - Asian Law
- Human Rights and Environmental Law
- Intellectual Property Law
- Public Policy
- Non-governmental organizations
My Background: - Web and Technologies Intern, California Alumni Association (CAA)
- President, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity International
My Greatest Asset is my ability to quickly analyze and extrapolate data, make logical deductions, and adapt to changing information.
My Last Position was Web and Technologies Intern for CAA. I focused my efforts on various sections of Cal’s alumni website () including Discounts and Services, Career Services, Cal Discoveries, and California Magazine. I worked with an array of software on both Mac and PC platforms. The position was a perfect opportunity to translate rusty computer knowledge into practical, visible results. I was also pushed to demonstrate fine attention to detail and learn the importance of creating a polished product.
I Work Best when given the opportunity to collaborate with more experienced individuals while still having the space to work independently.
My Dream Job Would Be working in the White House Counsel’s office. I believe it would be indescribably challenging and rewarding to assess the legal aspects of policy decisions made by the White House.
My Next Step is to obtain a position as a legal assistant in a Bay Area law firm. I intend to go to law school in the next couple years, but desire to expose myself to the day-to-day affairs of a firm before returning to school. I have been told countless times that law school and the actual practice of law are very different animals, and I want to have a more grounded sense of what comes after school.
I believe my current background would make me ideal for work with Intellectual Properties. Before working for CAA, I did software development in the computer gaming industry and spent countless hours learning the ins and outs of computer technologies. All this has been accompanied by a growing interest in legal language and argumentation. I dedicated three years of my extracurricular life to learning about the power and limitations of the Law through my involvement in Phi Alpha Delta. I am excited to combine my skills and experiences in a law firm environment.
I welcome any suggestions, leads, opportunities, or information that could be helpful in my job search. Feel free to contact me at: dkolta@gmail.com.
Thank you, Daniel Kolta Resume
