| Mauricia Price ’45 writes: “I believe that the more serious a magazine is, the more it needs a light touch of humor or whimsy. You provide it quite well with Twisted Titles.” We think that is a serious compliment, though we’re not entirely sure…. The Twisting Slowly in the Wind Award this issue goes to the young or old Blue who sent in several titles, one of which we rather liked (“Vet Sematary: Pets plot their own tales of terror”), but who—perhaps for good moral or legal reasons—did not list his/her name. Finally, while we were not surprised to receive a few George W. and Gore titles, given the season, we were puzzled by this: two different twisters arrived at “The Old Bugged Cross”! However serious, or cross, or humorous, send us your titles (of books, movies, or whatever), changing one letter only and adding a snappy underline, and perhaps your name, to: Twisted Titles, California Monthly, Alumni House, Berkeley, CA 94720. The Title title comes from the Godfather of Titles, Jim Blewer ’41. |
