Scholarship Fundraising Campaign Director

The California Alumni Association (CAA) is looking for an experienced Scholarship Fundraising Campaign Director. CAA is establishing a new scholarship with the purpose of increasing the diversity of the undergraduate student population at UC Berkeley. This position will be responsible for all aspects of fundraising for the new scholarship, including campaign strategy, prospect development, cultivation, and solicitation. Our top candidate will be interested in higher-education fundraising. This position will report to the Director of Development and will have a part time administrative assistant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) 5+ years of fundraising experience, specifically in soliciting prospects Demonstrated success in securing major gifts Demonstrated strengths in leadership and organization Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Exceptional interpersonal skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Goal-oriented and motivated
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Fundraising experience in an academic institution environment Experience with CADS (University database system) or other university alumni database systems Cal alumnus/a
RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct a fundraising feasibility study Shape overall campaign design and strategy Develop a prospect list Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects Develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for individuals, corporations and foundations Manage campaign goals Report campaign progress Develop campaign marketing materials Serve as the Development Staff liaison to the CAA Board Scholarship Committee Develop and manage campaign budget effectively Support Development Department projects, as needed
Salary & Benefits: This is a full-time position. Salary range will be commensurate with job duties and experience.
